“OPTIMA batteries deliver long-lasting, unsurpassed performance. With their unique SPIRAL CELL TECHNOLOGY and PUREFLOW TECHNOLOGY, Optima batteries contain more than 15 times more vibration resistance and increased cycle life compared to traditional batteries. Their batteries are also non-spillable and maintenance free. The Miss Britt Fleet consists of three custom built, single engine boats. This creates a unique demand for a high powered battery system. With single engine construction, battery strength is one of the most important features on your boat. If you ever have to reprime a diesel engine, which sometimes involves excessive cranking to help move the air through the line, a weaker battery system can and will leave you stranded. As a full time fishing guide of nearly 40 years, I have tried almost every brand out there before I tried Optima. Another Captain told me how great they were, and I have to admit I was a little skeptical the first time I saw the size of the Optima batteries versus their stated cranking amps. When I installed them on all three of my boats, using the same cables, cable ends, and switches, they blew away the competition. I have now used all of these batteries for approximately 18 months, in a full time, 12 month a year fishing service, and have yet to touch any battery on all three of the boats. This has never happened with any other brand. They are the real deal!

- On the Gold Line, the 26’ Miss Cheyenne is a single Yamaha 300hp outboard engine, and we use a group 31 for our cranking battery, and two group 27s for our house batteries that can be paralleled into our cranking battery.
- On the 34’ Miss Britt I consists of a single CAT 3406 diesel engine, and we use two sets of group 31 parallel to each other. The house bank consists of two group 31s optima batteries, and the cranking bank also consists of two group 31 batteries. Those two banks can be parallel to crank the boat in an emergency, but we have not had to do that once in 18 months.
- On the 43’ Miss Britt II we have a single CAT C18 diesel engine (3406 block), and it also consists of two group 31s as a house bank and two group 31s as a cranking bank. They are each wired in parallel as 12 volt systems. Both banks can be paralleled for emergency banking, but again we have not had to exercise this option. We use two group 27s in series for our 24 volt bowthruster. We also use a group 27 for our generator cranking battery.
